Are You This?

I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have the Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made- I'm a disciple of his. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the enemy, pander at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must keep going until he comes, give until I drop, preach all I know, and work until he stops me. And, when he comes for his own, he will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.

Pulling The "GOD" Plug On Artists And Bands

Should WOW.FM play music only from artists who's lifestyles are lined up with God?

If WOW.FM were to play only music from artists, both secular and Christian who's lifestyles only glorified God, then the music list would be a very short one. I know this is a touchy matter but personally I spent so many years in Christian radio, and seeing the lifestyles of many Christians really burned me out. I'm not saying that I'm any better than most people, because I'm not. Some days I feel like the Apostle Paul when he said that he was the Chief of Sinners! Hey that would make a great band name, any takers?

My friend who played with a huge CCM band for years got so burned out that to this date, doesn't see any difference between CCM and Billboard music, because it really is about money and screwed up lifestyles for so many artists that it's scary. He told me that he would see other Christian artists and band members smoking Marijuana right before going on stage to perform and minister Christ! That's why he said that only Worship music makes a difference in his life anymore, except even CCM has now made Worship music into it's own money maker format.

Regarding the Johnny Cash Booking photo: I loved Johnny Cash! I was very sad when he passed away because his music and even his faith later on had a big impact on me when I was very young. This booking photo from El Paso means a lot to me as well. My Dad was the arresting Agent for US Customs when Johnny was picked up at the El Paso airport with drugs stuffed up the neck his guitar. This arrest actually helped Johnny to start on the right track with his relationship with Christ. He sure had a tuff life like so many of us out here. Lord we need your strength, grace, and forgiveness!

Man, maybe we should just pull the plug on all artists both Christian and secular and go back to the good old days? (whatever that is!). We really do need the Cross!

Are You A Disgruntled Christian?

We all get worn out, bitter, torn, even doubt life, including our relationship with God. Even Jesus at the cross, for a moment said, Father, Father, why have you forsaken me? God never left his son, but allowed his own son to feel what total separation from his Father would be like, and even for Jesus, it was worse than the physical pain he felt with nails driven in his hands and his own weight pulling down on those nails, tearing his flesh. So remember "Disgruntled Christian" who walks through this life in doubt, even to the point of having a hardened heart. The only reason any of us can "feel" warm and fuzzy all over and at peace right now is because the Holy Spirit covers this earth with God's presence. Take that away and you'll feel just like Jesus did at the cross. Cold and barren and without hope. Let Jesus Christ wrap is loving arms around you today, so that you can know how deep and wide the love of God is through his son.
